NIMBYisums (Not
In My Back Yard it shall upset me seriously) are objections that NIMBYs
have that are used to try to derail or stop any project. NIMBYisums
can be a direct objection to a project or in many cases indirect hidden
(agenda) objections by creating organizations, groups and websites
with names that appear that they are in support of the project, but
the project needs to be done better or better than the official planners
and designs proposed. This technique is used in hopes of driving up
the cost to kill or seriously delay projects. NIMBYisums uses lies,
half-truths, deceptive statements, racism, Save Our Kids and other
similar statements as arguments. This group can also be seen using
the courts, regulatory agencies, and news media to get its message
across. They are not concern about cost and how their selfishness
hurts others.
